DOT SAP Services
SAP - Substance Abuse Professional who evaluates employees who have violated DOT drug and alcohol regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing and after-care (49 CFR Part 40).
Evaluations performed by non-qualified SAP will not be accepted by DOT and will delay your return to work. Also,fines may be imposed on an employer who uses non-qualified SAP in the Return-To-Duty process.
Any employee who violates a Department of transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol regulations must undergo initial and follow-up face-to-face evaluation.
Administrations covered under DOT drugs and alcohol testing:
- Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA)
- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
- Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
- Federal Transit Authority (FTA)
- United States Coast Guard (USCG)
- Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA)
SAP Services include:
Initial SAP Evaluation, recommendation for education or treatment, referral, follow up consultation with education or treatment provider, progress/compliance report, follow-up evaluation, compliance report to employer, recommendations for the follow up alcohol & drug testing.
